Darling ...

By Rory A.A. Hinton

Taking a shiny lover
Who makes her feel like magic.
There is always more than one
To this game some have won
Too many times now to bother
Caring about dull leftovers.

As she swivels her ball,
She walls her own herstory.
His story narrates her insulating silence.
Her story negates his resulting compliance
As she made randomness safe for ... just you:

"Wither goest thou, America,
In thy shiny car in the night?"
On The Road again.

Do What Thou Wilt.

She gave him her warning from the start:
This syndrome afflicts her precious heart.
It should be you, only you ... a just you.
Just adjust your magnificent point of view.
Heaven hath no jury like a man mourned.

Darling, I'm here for you ...

Every single minute by minute
He kept holding on to words
Spoken, promises made to last
A lifetime full of well sworn plans
(Marco - "Polo" - Island).
He is a singular man of his word.

Darling, I know you are there ...

He honestly tried.
She lied down painfully
Aware of his suffering.
He watched and waited,
And obsessively debated
Compulsively keeping "US" from dying
The death of a tragic disappointment.

Darling, I know you suffer ...

She is a strong woman,
But not strong enough yet
To get to be with a man like me,
Who is selfish enough
To have fought at my desk
For the only one he wanted,
For the only life he has.

Darling, I suffer. please help me ...
